The Cheapest Flights: NYC to Europe Fall 2011

September 13, 2011 by The Runaway Guide 16 Comments

After hours of searching, I found some of the cheapest flights from NYC to Europe for fall 2011.  For all you travelers who are ready to backpack Europe this fall but don’t want to spend a fortune on airfare, this list is for you.

*All flights below are one-way fares not based on a round trip and all have been calculated with tax included.

4) NYC to Barcelona: 404$ Dates: Sept 23, 25, 26, 27 Jet Airways

3) NYC to Paris: 316$  Dates: Sept 23,  XL Airways

2) NYC to London: 295$ Dates: Sept-November Iceland Express

Finally, without further ado, the ultimate low fare from NYC to Europe: Fall 2011

the cheapest airline to iceland

1) NYC to Oslo or Copenhagen: 279$ Dates: Sept-November Iceland Express

While flights from the US to Europe have risen considerably since just last year, the former prices are proof that flying is still affordable for the budget backer/ runaway. For finding cheap flights in general, check out this guide I wrote a few months ago, How To Fly For Cheap.

I dare you to find a cheaper flight from the US to Europe this Fall!

If you do, be sure to let me know by posting it below.

Thanks, Cheers, Danke, Domo, Grazie, Toda, Spasibo, Kamsamnida, Merci, takk!

Hey, Oct is almost too far in advance. By the time oct comes around, I am sure I can find something for around 300$ one way. At the moment, I found an rt to heathrow for 700$ on finnair. Contact me in the summer, and I will try and find you a good one!
      Best,
      Leif

    Hey Leif!
I found a one-way flight from NYC to London Nov 22nd for $288. Not cheaper than the Oslo flight you found, but about the same. Studentuniverse.com! You have to have a student email though.
I love your blog! Keep it up :D

Why do airfare prices from California to Europe have to be triple the cost of airfare from NYC? Not FAIR! or UNFARE I should say.

You ought to check out jet blue. They often have one way tickets from burbank to jfk for just about 100$. I just checked now though and they have a flight for 159 one way after taxes. Not bad but its usually cheaper.

The Oslo/Copenhagen price is incredible. I’ll be looking for something like this when I eventually go to Europe. I’d like to fly one-way and then go overland all the way to Singapore. One of my dream trips :) I’ll have to limit my soju and Kraze Burger intake while in Korea to manifest it into a reality :P

Hey Dude, yea, I was really happy when I found that price. But I remember, just last year, there were prices on Aer lingus for like 150.
I dig your travel plans! So far, this is my plan starting the end of the month. NYC to copenhage or london, then down by land to Sudan. Sudan I have an internship for a few months but then afterwards I want to go overland back to Japan. What do you think?

I heard the US is the worse. It is kind of upsetting to me. I told the governor of NY, I said, let Flipnomad in!

Dang! Its a shame I’m still saving up for next year. Do you think you might post something similar for April-May of 2012?
