My Lucky 7

July 29, 2011 by The Runaway Guide 4 Comments

lucky sevensMany thanks to my fellow travel bloggers, Australia Rocky Travel, Nomadic Samuel, Pause The Moment & Man On The Lam to name a few, for nominating me for the seven links project. Thanks also to TripBase for coming up with such a great way to revive some of our oldies but goodies. Without further ado, here they are:

Most Beautiful Post

I don’t really have any “beautiful” posts, but if I had to chose one, I think “How To Runaway As An Adult” would probably be it. I guess it’s beautiful in the sense that others have found it well written and inspiring.

Most Popular Post

Though I never considered it my most interesting or well written post, “How To Jump European Trains” consistently ranks highest in popularity and comments. Perhaps it’s the diarrhea technique?jumping a french passenger train

Most Controversial Post

While all of my posts tend to be relatively controversial, the most, in terms of irate hardcore feminist comments, is “How To Make Romance On The Road.” One lighthearted analogy about fish and female bits, and it brings out the Wollstonecraft in everyone.

Most Helpful Post

Although I am not sure if it was helpful to others, it was definitely helpful to me. Sometimes writing it out or saying things aloud helps.  “How To Be Successful In Blogging & In Life.”Peace Cigarettes

A Post Whose Success Surprised Me

I really didn’t think “How To Avoid Travelers Diarrhea: Lessons Learned” would do as well as it did.  I guess I’m not the only one who enjoys diarrhea anecdotes.

A Post That Didn’t Get The Attention It Deserved

I thought “How To Jump A Border” would have taken off but to date it has received the least views. I can understand why though, it’s a little on the extreme side. Not too many of you budget backpackers are thinking about crossing borders illegally and I don’t blame you.

The Post I Am Most Proud Of

Hands down, “An Earthquake State Of Mind.” I wrote this post in the midst of intense aftershocks. In the result, my anxiety and fear was absorbed in this post. Making for the most thrilling read, so I’ve been told.

I love the 7 post idea. How else can you include Jumping Trains, Romance and Diarrhea in the same post!

    Love the blog, regards

I found the how to make romance on the road pretty entertaining. In your defense you did put number 3 out there on things not to do.

Who Is The Runaway Guide?

When I was 16 I ran away from home and traveled the world with nothing but the clothes on my back. Over 10 years later and I'm still "on the run," surviving in style, thriving off adventure, searching for that elusive road to enlightenment, and cultivating the life of travel that I want to live.
