James Bond’s Travel Wallet

December 18, 2013 by The Runaway Guide 6 Comments

DSC02118Aside from fantasizing about travel, I love to dream about hitting the lottery. During one of my internet fueled dream sessions I came across a travel wallet. It was practical, sleek, and classy. It was everything I realized I wanted in a travel wallet.

Given my measly travel blogger budget, I didn’t have the resources to buy it on the spot. But I vowed to one day acquire this ultimate travel wallet through my mega millions lottery winnings.

Luckily, I didn’t have to wait until I matched all 6 numbers. I decided to e-mail Bellroy. They responded in just a few hours and told me they would love to send me their travel wallet in exchange for my feedback. I was ecstatic and overjoyed. And I realized I didn’t need to play the state lottery to win.

As long as I continue doing what I’m doing, working hard, and staying disciplined,  I will win my own life’s lottery.

Bellroy Travel Wallet

If James Bond had a wallet it would surely be this one. It’s sexy, stealthy, slim, and masterfully made. It’s for the business traveler and the budget backpacker. It’s a wallet I never realized I needed until I started traveling with it.

Features

Aside from the quality beige leather exterior and cool retro inlay, this wallet has a bunch of practical features implemented just for the traveler.

It has an inner flap that perfectly accommodates a passport. It protects it and helps you keep all your valuables in one place. Never again will heart palpitating pains of panic attack as you frantically search for your passport on the ride to the airport.

The second notable addition that sets this wallet apart is the integrated customs pen. It is a high quality Japanese made pen and is easy to remove. Never again will you scramble for the pen at the bottom of your bag as you rush to fill out customs forms before reaching immigration.

It has 5 slots for credit cards and even a small slot for a micro sd card.

Finally, it’s large size allows you to insert any size currency and even a boarding pass.

And somehow, even after being packed to the max with my oversized passport and various currencies, it still manages fold up remarkably slim.

Drawbacks

The wallet is a bit bigger than a passport, so if you’re into wearing really tight jeans, it may not fit too comfortably.

It’s large size also makes it worrying to whip out when traveling through dodgy countries. While I haven’t had any problems, I do make a point of concealing it with my hands as best I can. If you’re worried about security be sure to check out How To Avoid Being Robbed On The Road.

At a cost of 120$, it’s not the cheapest wallet out there. But considering the quality and design, it’s relatively cheap.

Conclusion

If you’re in need of a new wallet or if you want to feel like an international man of mystery, this is the wallet. While it is on the pricey side, you get what you pay for. If you can’t fit it into your budget, try hinting to your relatives that you want it for the holidays or as a birthday present. It definitely seems like a practical wallet for the avid traveler but at a steep price. I’ve been using my bacon-duct tape wallet my little sister made for me a few months back…only problem is every time I open it up I see bacon! ;-) lol

Hey Ron! Yea, it’s definitely pricey, but you totally get what you pay for. I’m excited to whip it out in classy places one day. Haha, that sounds sweet though.

Another great travel wallet if you can’t afford the Bellroy. I never leave on a trip without this one: http://www.saddlebackleather.com/passportwallet?sc=8&category=87. I have no affiliation with this company, I really just love their products

Hey Dan, that’s a cool looking wallet. Their bags look super Indiana Jone’sy as well. Thanks for sharing!

It’s super class and practical, don’t think I can go back to a regular wallet now.
